13X-HP molecular sieve, often referred to as high-performance 13X molecular sieve, is an enhanced version developed based on the standard 13X (sodium X-type) molecular sieve through methods such as ion exchange, process optimization, or the addition of binders. Its core objective is to address the need for deep simultaneous removal of water and highly polar molecules (such as CO₂) in specific applications.
Application fields:
- Front-end purification of the air separation unit: In the most critical process of air separation for oxygen/nitrogen production, deeply removing water and CO₂ from the air to prevent equipment from freezing and clogging is its most important and classic application.
- Deep purification of natural gas and industrial gases: During the pre-treatment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other processes, water, CO₂, and sulfides are simultaneously removed to ultra-low levels to prevent blockages in the liquefaction equipment and to be used for the purification of electronic-grade specialty gases.
- Olefin purification: In the petrochemical industry, it is used to remove water and CO₂ from ethylene and propylene, preventing these impurities from poisoning the polymerization catalyst or blocking low-temperature equipment.
- Cryogenic liquid storage and transportation: In the aerospace field, it is used as the purging gas for the blowdown of rocket liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen storage tanks to prevent condensation hazards at extremely low temperatures.
- Other high-performance applications: Also used in the life support systems of submarines/space capsules for air regeneration and purification, as well as as a pre-treatment unit in the CO₂ recovery process.
